Welcome to Practical Homelife, my blog, an extension of White Oak Attic – The Old General Mercantile of the Internet.  I’m Lisa Isbell and I started this blog to add a social element to the Attic and to share about a wide variety of hobbies and interests – including resources you may find useful in your pursuits.

Click here to register to receive my monthly email update.  Your email is secure, I do not share my mailing list.  You will not be barraged with messages from me.  I update about once a month, sometimes a little longer and I may send out an occasional message in between if there is some worthy piece of news to share that is time sensitive.  The updates contain special offers, opportunities for FREE stuff, and more content that is offered only to email recipients!

What’s Here

This site offers useful links in the right margin and an easy way to find what you’re interested in among my blog posts.  Blog posts are arranged by category.  The categories are named by topics so it’s easy for you to find what you want to read.  One of the categories is for my monthly column called “Stories from the Attic”.  This one is just for fun and I hope you enjoy it.

You can connect with me on Facebook and Twitter in the White Oak Attic Community section in the right margin.  I use both of these venues to let everyone know when I add something new to the Estate Sale Treasures category, update this blog or find an interesting link to share.  Most of what I share is hobby or home related but occasionally I toss something in there just to let you know what I’m doing along other pursuits. If you want to know more about me, I have a personal blog called LisaIsbell.com

About the Attic

White Oak Attic offers a variety of goods for the home that aren’t found in the big box retail outlets and malls.  A couple of special things about the Attic are the Estate Sale Treasures category and an occasional new category that pops up when there is a limited supply of something or it is so unique it deserves its very own category ~ a class by itself. Most of what you’ll find will have a nostalgic or traditional appeal.  I also aim to offer high quality gift items for an alternative to the run of the mill.

A Social Element

I’d like to encourage you to post comments, follow White Oak Attic on Twitter and join the Facebook fan page.  Again, those links are here on this page in the right margin under White Oak Attic Community.  Share your thoughts!

Unique Feature

The Estate Sale Treasures category in White Oak Attic is a special place, we offer unusual and vintage finds in this category and most items are cross listed in our eBay store.  These items contain links to our eBay store and have a different appearance from our other store items. Click here to see the eBay RSS feed.

Always a Fair Deal at The Attic

Visit my  customer testimonials page to see what my customers have to say about White Oak Attic.  eBay allows customers to post their opinion of a seller’s performance.  I have a feedback score of 100% Positive from over 400 happy customers. Not big and fancy but you can sure count on a great experience when you shop in my store!
